In an internal memo distributed earlier this week Walt Disney Co. has outlined the company's current policy regarding mobile technology. The memo basically states that the only newly acquired devices which will be supported and allowed network connectivity will be the iPAQs and Blackberry devices.
The memo is designed to address the issues that would have come up after the holiday gift-giving season when many of these employees would possibly be looking for a way to connect their newly acquired devices to the company's internal network.
The memo goes on to state that the policy will only apply to new devices, and that devices which were owned prior to the memo would be grandfathered for an unspecified amount of time.
A Disney spokesperson stated that this is the company's current policy - which was derived as a part of a company-wide evaluation, and that they frequently review their policy.
