Nextel to release redesigned Blackberry

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - September 06, 2002

Although Palm OS and Pocket PC are dominating the PDA market, Research in Motion's Blackberry still has a loyal following, and is attracting a major cell phone company to it's platform.

RIM has apparently made an agreement with Nextel Communications to release a revamed version of the Blackberry. The new unit is rumored to be redesigned and will contain Nextel's Direct Connect (walkie-talkie) functionality as well as full phone capabilities.

Users will be able to do Google searches with the device and will have network printing capabilities.
