According to the New York Times, RIM lost an emergency Supreme Court appeal on Wednesday that sought to suspend a long-running patent suit by rival NTP.
RIM is in the middle of an appeal to the Supreme Court and sought to freeze lower court proceedings while the appeal was pending. Chief Justice John Roberts denied the company's request for a stay, without comment. This puts RIM one step closer to possibly being required to stop service in the US.
