In order to beat the competition during the Strippergate federal corruption verdict reading in San Diego, KFMB Channel 8 reporter David Gotfredson used a Blackberry to immediately transmit the verdict to people on the outside from inside the courtroom.
Dozens of other reporters had to wait for the entire verdict to be read before they rushed outside to file their stories. KFMB already had the story thanks to their trusted Blackberry, and beat the competition by up to 20 minutes.
