Here we go again. It seems that RIM is involved in another patent dispute. This time it's a a New York software developer that is at odds with RIM. It seems that Eatoni Ergonics thinks RIM is violating a patent they have involving keyboard technology found in RIM's BlackBerry 7100 mobile-phone device.
Eatoni Ergonomics and RIM are expected to head into mediation in the next 30 days to avoid a trial, according to CNET News.com.
The dispute involves the software that runs on the 7100 line of Blackberry devices that helps speed text typing by using predictive technology.
The two sides in that case are currently waiting for a ruling related to a 2002 district court decision that said RIM infringed on NTP patents.
