News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - December 22, 2006

According to Forbes, the number of BlackBerry users has reached 7 million. In its latest quarterly report RIM reported 875,000 BlackBerry subscriber accounts were added during the quarter, making the total number of BlackBerry users 7 million worldwide. The North American subscriber base grew 13% during the last quarter, while the offshore subscriber base grew by 18%.

Even with this kind of news RIM's stock price is all over the map. According to Forbes, RIM missed Wall Street earnings expectations by a penny yet its shares jumped about 4% in after-market trading Thursday. On Friday its stock fell 2.3% from the Thursday close, to $130.67, at midday.
