According to AP Technology Writer Bruce Meyerson, the Blackberry 8800 is simply a "puffed-up version of the black Pearl." In his review of the Blackberry 8800 Meyerson also says the new Blackberry "reveals a little design fatigue at Research in Motion Ltd."
It is his belief that the 8800 lacks the real styling and fresh look that other Blackberry launches have had in the past. He believes the 8800 really stems from the popularity of the Pearl.
Many traditional Blackberry users were upset about RIM dropping the clickwheel that had been with the Blackberry since its inception. When RIM tried their new trackball with the Pearl, they had some success.
Other complaints in Meyerson's review include the lack of support of UMTS. Why would RIM make a device that only supports EDGE?
So the AP Technology Writer isn't all that impressed with the BB 8800. Are you?

"The Pearl's instant popularity has helped drive BlackBerry's subscriber growth to record levels by a wide margin. And so, quicker than you can say 'profit shmofit' or 'tradition shmadition,' RIM is adapting the front trackball to its flagship e-mail device for business users."
