Blackberry with Rotatable Keyboard Coming?

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - February 05, 2007

With the release of the iPhone many people have been predicting the decline of the Blackberry. The folks at Unwired View were curious enough to do a bit of research into what RIM might have planned for the future. They scanned through the US Patent and Trademark Applications and came up with some interesting Blackberry related submissions.

One of the applications entitled, "Mobile device with rotatable keyboard" shows what appears to be a logical evolution of the Pearl. A Blackberry with a rotating keyboard is a very interesting idea.

Other submissions appear to show that RIM might be thinking of a flip phone in the future. They also could be coming up with a dual keyboard function where a standard numeric keypad might be on the front while a full-on QWERTY keyboard could be flipped out when needed.
