Skype will launch a version of its software for the iPhone on Tuesday, and a BlackBerry version in May. iPhone users will be able to download Skype from the App Store for free. Interestingly, Skype for the iPhone's VoIP service will not work over a cellular connection but requires WiFi to work. The iPhone version of Skype will support chatting over a cellular connection.
Video calling is not yet suppored but is being considered for future versions, according to BGR. There are several unique features to Skype for iPhone including the ability to use the camera hardware to capture a photo.
