RIM showed the world the upcoming WebKit BlackBerry browser at the Mobile World Congress today. The browser has been a weak spot for RIM as the BlackBerry has not rendered pages very quickly even on 3G devices. It looks like WebKit will solve these issues. The first demo was done by Mike Lazaridis, RIM's Co-Founder and Co-CEO.
The demo was apparently done over WiFi (cheating?) and it was fast. Javascript is handled very nicely and is quite snappy.
There's no official word on when this new browser will hit but rest assured, they're working on it.
