Skyfire dumps BlackBerry in favor of Android

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - April 07, 2010

Skyfire has dumped the BlackBerry platform in favor of Android. Skyfire’s CEO, Jeff Glueck, announced in a blog post that Skyfire has ceased all work on the BlackBerry version of their browser. Citing a poor developer environment with inconsistent and fragmented APIs, Glueck said they're moving on to Android. He apologized to users who were eagerly awaiting a new browser for the BlackBerry, and sai they'd return to BlackBerry when things are easier on developers.

Hopefully OS 6.0 will make things easier in terms of development for the BlackBerry platform.
