BMW iDrive brings BlackBerry content to your dash board

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - May 03, 2010

RIM and BMW are working together to make reading emails safer for drivers. Using Bluetooth MAP (Message Access Profile), the BMW iDrive system can grab BlackBerry emails and contacts and provide them to the driver in the in-dash system. Using Text-to-Speech technology the BMW can even read your email to you while you drive.

This technology will be built into all BlackBerry 6 phones. Currently, it works with the BlackBerry Pearl 3G.
