Research in Motion has filed a patent for conference call technology on the BlackBerry. From the patent drawings it appears that RIM wants to bring a more visual experience to conference calls. The drawings suggest you can see avatars of those in the call, along with name and phone number information.

There is no official word from RIM on if or when this technology will be implemented. Many times patents are filed even though the technology does not make it to market.
