We've seen so many pre-release photos of the upcoming BlackBerry Slider, but nobody knows its official name. CrackBerry now reports that RIM is seriously considering calling the Slider a BlackBerry Torch, instead of folding into the Bold family. According to CrackBerry, a final decision has not been made.

There are a couple of clues that lead one to believe the Torch name is being considered, and this is not just speculation. RIM acquired a company called Torch Mobile, and the domain name BlackBerryTorch.com has been registered to RIM. Hmmm...

The BlackBerry Slider whatever its name will run OS 6. No official word on a release date yet, but I'm sure that announcement will be forthcoming soon.
