Starbucks Accepting Mobile Payments Nationwide

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - January 19, 2011

Starbucks is rolling out their mobile payments system nationwide. After testing went well in a few markets the company is ready to offer the convenient payment system to everyone. Customers using the Starbucks Card Mobile app on their iPhone, iPod touch or BlackBerry will now be able to pay for their coffee with their smartphone at 6,800 independent Starbucks stores and 1,000 stores that are in Target stores nationwide.

The new payment system is said to save time because people don't have to fumble to pull a credit card or cash out of their wallet. If the new payment system saves a little bit of time for each person in line, the time savings really adds up.

An Android app is supposedly in the works but at this time only iOS and BlackBerry devices are supported. Interestingly, the BlackBerry Bold is not mentioned as being supported on the Starbucks website.

To download Starbucks Card Mobile for your BlackBerry, text GO to 70845. iOS users can see the link below.
