Microsoft, Nokia, and Amazon considered RIM takeover

News - By: SPBlast! Staff - December 21, 2011

The Wall Street Journal reported today that Microsoft and Nokia mulled the idea of joining forces to take over RIM. The news sent RIM's stock price up by 10%. Reuters reported that Amazon looked into acquiring RIM, but it appears RIM rebuffed the overtures. It appears that RIM's leadership does not want change, and wants to go forward on their own.

What do you think? Can RIM pull themselves out of the ditch by themselves? WIth the new BlackBerry 10 phones not coming out for at least another six months RIM is seriously behind and they need something to get consumers excited about their products again.
