BlackBerry PlayBook headed to Verizon?

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - February 09, 2011

We've known for awhile that Sprint would offer the BlackBerry PlayBook on its 4G network, but what about Verizon? It appears that Verizon is testing the device and will offer it. A tipster sent SkatterTech a link to a portal that RIM and Verizon apparently created to register users for a Verizon PlayBook beta program. It could be fake, but the domain is registered to Marketing Werks who counts both RIM and Verizon as clients.

It would not be surprising to see the PlayBook at Verizon. First of all, Verizon has more customers than Sprint so RIM would have a much bigger customer base for their tablet. Also, once the PlayBook has a CDMA radio in it, there's no problem getting it over to Verizon.

So is the PlayBook really headed to Verizon? Stay tuned.
