RIM has their first hiccup with the BlackBerry PlayBook since it was launched. The company has had to recall about 900 PlayBooks that were shipped to Staples. The affected devices were shipped with a faulty version of the OS that may cause problems when loading applications on initial startup.
In a statement to CrackBerry, RIM said most of the devices never reached customers:
"RIM determined that approximately one thousand BlackBerry PlayBook tablets (16 GB) were shipped with an OS build that may result in the devices being unable to properly load software upon initial set-up.
The majority of the affected devices are still in the distribution channel and haven’t reached customers. RIM is working to replace the affected devices."
If you are one of the few people who purchased a PlayBook that is affected, contact RIM and they'll take care of you. Engadget has published a list of the serial numbers that were affected. You can get the list at the source link below.
