5 reasons the TouchPad is the best tablet right now

News - By: SPBlast! Staff - August 22, 2011

HP sure set the tablet world upside down when they decided to kill the TouchPad, and therefore webOS. If you're reading this, you probably already know that Best Buy sold out of their inventory of TouchPads mighty fast, and you're hard pressed to get one now. HP says they will offer more in a few days so you may be in luck.

Here are the 5 reasons the TouchPad is the best tablet right now:

1. The Price

This might be obvious but at $99 you just can't go wrong. Sure webOS may not be supported forever, but at $99 you can do a lot of things with this tablet for a nominal price.

2. The Kindle App

Amazon makes a nice app for the TouchPad and at $99, the TouchPad is less expensive than a Kindle.

3. It Plays Music and Movies

Like every other tablet the TouchPad plays music and movies. You have a very light, compact music and movie player with a larger screen (in comparison to DVD players).

4. It still does web and email

The TouchPad does a nice job of email and web and that won't go away. Where else where you get a $99 tablet that gives you a 10" display to view your email and web content?

5. Android may run on it

There are several people trying to port Android to the TouchPad. When they get that project done you'll have a very inexpensive Android tablet. Even if webOS fails to be supported going forward you still have options.
