HP says more TouchPads on the way

News - By: SPBlast! Staff - August 30, 2011

By discontinuing the TouchPad, HP created an unbelievable demand for the product they cared little about just a few weeks ago. Due to the overwhelming demand, HP has decided to make one final batch of TouchPads. Can you believe that? More TouchPads are on the way.

The demand for the TouchPad proves that HP had the wrong strategy all along. Instead of trying to compete head to head with the iPad, they should have been taking a loss on the TouchPad hardware in an effort to create a thriving developer community and webOS ecosystem. It might be too late now, but I still say that's they're best bet. By dumping webOS they are kicking a gift horse in the mouth!

There is no official word on when the new TouchPads will be available. HP will only say "in a few weeks." Stay tuned.
