15 year old boy died trying to get his BlackBerry back

News - By: SPBlast! Staff - January 18, 2012

Temidayo Ogunneye, a 15-year old boy, was stabbed to death after confronting thieves for the return of his BlackBerry, according to a court hearing yesterday.

Temidayo Ogunneye went to retrieve his BlackBerry smartphone but fled when his attackers pulled out weapons, the Old Bailey was told. As he ran, he tripped and was attacked, suffering a single fatal knife wound to his heart. Darius Kwakye, 18, a 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, neither of whom can be named, are accused of his murder, which they deny.

Temidayo and a friend were robbed on May 11, 2011 in Camberwell, south-east London. Later that day, he went back to confront the people who stole his BB, and a fight started. The reports say that Temidayo was actually winning the fight at first, but then weapons were pulled out. Temidayo then ran, but tripped and that's when he was stabbed. Had he not gone back to get his BlackBerry he would almost certainly still be alive. What a high price to pay for a gadget.
