A new report by Context Information Security gives the BlackBerry PlayBook top marks in tablet security. The report, entitled "Tablets in the Enterprise," praised the PlayBook for giving users a safe division between work and personal computing. The report also looked at the iPad and Samsung's Galaxy Tab.
The report criticized all three tablets for not automatically encrypting backups, and for not offering extensive tools for managing large numbers of tablets in the enterprise. However, RIM will be happy that their tablet is tops in security. It's really the only thing they can brag about when it comes to the PlayBook.
Users have pretty much concluded that Apple's iPad is the best tablet, but as time goes on enterprise users may look for better security. If RIM can keep focused they may be able to create a little niche for themselves. We'll see.
