BlackBerry use continues to grow in government

News - By: SPBlast! Staff - February 03, 2012

Although RIM has seen a sharp decline in market share among US consumers, the government sector is another story. BlackBerry has seen consistent growth among government users. The growth isn't huge, and RIM hasn't given specific numbers, but growth is said to be steady.

"[The federal government sector] continues to grow in terms of new subscriber acquisition as well as in the reinvestment/refresh business, or customers that are at the end of their contract upgrading to new BlackBerrys," said Scott Totzke, senior VP of BlackBerry security at RIM.

RIM is hoping that recent security certifications will keep that trend going.
