While three of the top US cell carriers announced plans to support BlackBerry 10, Sprint did not release any plans to support the platform, until now. Sprint spokesman, Mark Elliot, confirmed to BGR that Sprint will indeed release a BlackBerry 10 device. In an email to BGR, the company said, “Sprint plans to bring BlackBerry 10 to our customers later this year. We will share more details soon.”
This is all great news for RIM. Interest in BlackBerry 10 is stronger than expected and if BlackBerry 10 stands up to the hype, RIM may have saved itself from doom. The BB 10 launch is on for January 30, just a couple weeks away.
