BlackBerry has launched the Z10 in the US, and unlike launches in other countries, there is not much excitement surrounding the US launch. Various reports have emerged about the lack of marketing around the US launch and now Forbes confirms the lack of enthusiasm surrounding BB10 in America.
AT&T did offer a period of pre-orders, so perhaps that accounts for the lack of enthusiasm in the stores. BGR reported seeing no extra marketing in AT&T stores in New York City which is odd for a flagship BB launch.
It will be interesting to see what happens when Verizon launches BB10. If things continue to go as they have, BlackBerry may have to conceded the US market to Apple and Samsung. I was really hoping BlackBerry would have a strong showing in the US, but so far things don't look great. Maybe they can gain popularity over time, but they really needed to create a buzz with the US launch and it appears they have not done that.
It appears to have had a strong launch in places like Canada, the United Kingdom and India. In contrast, the launch in the U.S. by AT&T has been listless. The reason the BlackBerry launch has gone better in Canada, United Kingdom and India compared to the United States is because in those countries the supply has been in balance with the number of BlackBerry loyalists.
