BlackBerry 10 has launched and has marked a turnaround for the company who once dominated the smartphone market only to slide into near oblivion over the last couple of years. Although BlackBerry has announced two phones so far, the Z10 and Q10, CEO Thorsten Heins says more phones are coming this year.
Expectations for BlackBerry are high and every day we read about how the company cannot pull off a complete turnaround. It wasn't all that long ago that Apple was close to bankruptcy and they turned things around by innovating. The turnaround wasn't abrupt, but they gradually increased their sales, year over year, and finally got enough momentum to become the most valuable company in the world.
Can BlackBerry do the same thing? Probably not, but they can build on small successes and gain enough momentum to be a solid player in the smartphone game.
