BlackBerry decided to launch its first BlackBerry 10 smartphone without a hardware keyboard. The BlackBerry Z10 has been launched around the world, and will soon launch in the US. It would make sense that US carriers would want to carry BlackBerry's flagship phone, but Sprint has other ideas.
BlackBerry spokesman, Mark Elliott, recently told Bloomberg that Sprint will carry a BlackBerry 10 device, but not the touchscreen Z10. Sprint will instead carry the BlackBerry Q10 that comes with the more traditional hardware keyboard.
The BlackBerry Z10 is scheduled to launch in the US this month, but the Q10 isn't due until May 2013. It looks like Sprint customers will not be able to get a BlackBerry 10 device until May. No word from Sprint on why they do not want to offer the full touchscreen BlackBerrry.
