Skype has announced the availability of its BlackBerry 10 app. Oddly, the app only works with the Q10 right now, but the Q10 isn't out yet. Skype is quick to point out that this is a preview version (beta) and not finalized yet.
Skype for BB10 is actually an Android version of Skype that runs in the BB10 Android wrapper. The app works, but Darrell Etherington at TechCrunch says it's seriously flawed.
So it looks like BlackBerry and Skype have some work to do before Skype is ready for prime time. At least we know they're working on it.
Keep in mind that this release is still in preview state which means that the experiences are not yet final. We do however think you’ll be impressed – the app already offers all the Skype features BlackBerry 10 users have been looking forward to.

...the non-native nature of the app, combined with the already sub-par Android version, results in an experience that is probably best left unexperienced by most. {...}The issues are mostly around lag, unresponsive taps, chats that take forever to update and show you their history, and notifications that seem only loosely tied to actual in-app events, and which also ignore your device audio settings.
